Aptus enters the market in three ways. On the one hand, we focus on projects, on the other hand we focus on end-to-end solutions and finally we have a service model where we can provide expertise for internal customer projects. The collaboration model for project work with our customers can be approached in 3 ways. Team as a service, Time & Material or fixed price, fixed scope. Below an overview of the different possibilities.
How easy would it not be for organisations to call in a full team in no time to help launch a new (IT, smart technology) project? Or to assist and assist an in-house IT team in the development or roll-out of a project (co-sourcing)? All this without training, endless searching for the right people, ..... As a company you then have the possibility to 'plug in' people at any time if the scope of the project would change.
This way of working is also called the'team as a service' model. Our people are carefully deployed in function of the project at the customer. In other words, you hire our people for the duration of a project. Our customer is in control to implement scope changes and other requirements during the project. The agile way of working also allows us to 'see' changes quickly, or to pass on valuable feedback. We adapt to your needs. This can be one person or a composition of different types of profiles.
How does this work practically? The customer takes a commitment to a certain occupation. E.g. a team of 3 people, 3 days a week. Either a team of 2 people full time, or.... At the end of the month an invoice follows as agreed. No surprises!
A good example of this way of working is our customer Energy Lab, where we have been a reliable partner for several years now in the long-term construction and support of various platforms(www.keep-moving.eu, www.start2run.be, ...).
There is a lot of knowledge in different domains within Aptus. This knowledge can be offered to our customers on demand. We can provide support on the basis of the so-called Time & Material, or to put it nicer: directing. No fixed commitment, but a trust between Aptus and the customer.
We help our customer as flexible as possible, where we report monthly in a transparent way. The customer pays for the time our Aptus employees invest in him/her. A typical example of such a cooperation is the development of a smart wine cooler, making a medical ventilation device smart, ...
Practically speaking, it's very simple to set up. A management contract is drawn up with the client. This contract contains the prices and the duration of a directing assignment. Every month the services, including detailed time registrations, are delivered to the client.
Is this then a blank cheque? Of course not, our project manager keeps his finger on the pulse at both the customer and the Aptus'ers. The planning and planned estimates are always shared with the customer in advance. Do we need hardware? No problem, we submit everything to the customer and they decide again. This model is frequently used by Aptus in situations where the customer wants full guarantees in function of budget and delivered work. The system is simple. There should be a fixed scope. This fixed scope is budgeted and combined with a clear planning. So the customer knows what will be made by when. The concept is clear but includes some pitfalls. There are 2 things that are important. On the one hand scoping and on the other hand focusing expectations towards the customer.
Scoping means that, before a price is determined, there must be a clear definition of the work. Both functional and technical. We always start this process on the basis of a paying analysis or preliminary study. This preliminary study means that we sit down together with the customer and define the direction together. We provide answers to questions such as: which users work with the solution? Do we need to integrate with something physical (e.g. a weighbridge) or digital (e.g. an ERP system or legacy software)?
